GKS stands for God’s Kingdom Seekers and is our work on a Sunday morning with children in school years 1 – 7. Our aim is to teach children biblical truth in a safe environment using games, singing & dance, craft activities and short DVD clips. In all that we do we seek to explore the Bible with the children in ways that are relevant - but most of all fun!
We are currently working our way through the 'What's in the Bible' DVD series. The children really love this ,and so do the adults! Check out the trailer below.
Sometimes we take part in a Sunday morning service to show the rest of our church family what we have been doing on a particular theme or prepare a visual display of our activities.
All of the children in GKS sit in church with their parents/responsible adult for the first part of the service, after which they leave to go to their own activities. They will then stay with the GKS leadership team until after the church service finishes, during which time they will be given a drink and a snack before being returned to their parents.
All of the GKS leaders are CRB checked. Between them they have many years experience in working with children and young people. Anyone who leaves their child/children in the care of the GKS leadership team can be completely confident that they are in a safe and secure environment for the duration of a Sunday morning service. It is the policy of Cadoxton Methodist Church that all children attending GKS each Sunday should have a parent or other responsible adult with them who will remain in church during the service and be available should any need arise.
‘Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.’ Proverbs 22 verse 6
